I feel that life is something that just happens, but we can and do make choices that affect the outcome of where we find ourselves heading.

Destiny will always happen but i do think the decisions you make control your life. As Fitzy said you cant do anything about destiny.

Some call it destiny, others argue free will. For me I believe our fate lies somewhere in-between.
We all travel along life's path when circumstances bend us in a certain direction.
It is however only when we reach a crossroads - when a difficult decision has to be made, that defines us as to who we are.
We may not always make the right choice, be proud of our decisions, but it is how we deal with our decisions, that shows our true worth and value.
Destiny, luck, karma?
Whether they exist or not, we cannot help but welcome a little help along the way.

I think its a bit of both. Clearly there are things we can shape and steer, and then there are other things that we have absolutely no control over.

I don't really believe in destiny in the sense of an external driving force behind our actions. I believe there is a destination, and much of life is about working on becoming the person good enough to see the path towards it.
