Fingerprints are useless if you've nothing to compare them to. Once a fake review is deleted, how do we see that a new fake review has the same syntactic quirks, and is therefore probably by the same reviewer? You can't compare two reviews if one of them isn't there.

“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

I see. But, forgive me for saying this, isn't that also the job of a database and a mod? Should we have to flag and argue every obvious thing? There should and as we know is a full database of reviews, in your opinion how hard would it be to scan for key words or syntax?

It's hard to know the answer to your question without knowing how the database is set up, but most things aren't too hard to find once you know what you're looking for. As for what the mods should be doing, that's a question for Pat, not me.

    This is true.

Most major universities use software to determine plagiarized content of student submissions. The software works by noting where the style differs from the normal person's style

I doubt I shall ask. I doubt there is an answer, other than if you agree to do reviews as well.

Could their not be a system that ratted reviews are given a week for the reviewer to call the E-I office to verify?
Staff could mail the reviewer and give them a number allocated for this issue and even ask them to leave a message so they wouldn't have to speak to anyone.
I cant help feeling for the innocent girls that get landed with ratted reviews... they don't look good at all!
When you've worked hard to get a good name for yourself, a ratted review is the last thing you want to see on your profile!
And if your paying good money for your profile i don't see why they should be left there! Unfortunately i'd say they do affect your income which is horribly unfair.

Ratted positive reviews do affect my impression of an escort. I would generally not see an escort who has many positive ratted reviews. As I assume (maybe wrongly so) that the escort in question is in on the game.

The difficulty lies in the ability of the mods to clearly delineate the genuine from ratted reviews. It will be barn door obvious in some cases but there must be many where the mods will be scratching their heads trying to work out if its genuine or ratted. I used to think that a poor level of English and repetitve cliches were a dead give away. However, having read reviews from regular reviewers, I've discovered that this isn't a given. ie. some genuine reviewers write rubbish reviews in poor English!

My view would be that all ratted reviews both positive and certainly negative should be removed. However I would support Fiona's suggestion that the reviewers be given a week to get in contact with the office (either by phone or PM) to defend thier reviews before they get deleted.

I expect however that this will exponentially increase the work of the mods or whoever is charged with determining the authenticity of the reviews.
