Unfortunately some people dont know what the word 'respectful' means, so there's no use getting annoyed by it.
It doesn't matter what business you are in, we all have to deal with it to some degree.
The best we can hope for is to persevere through the I'll-mannered, arrogant and rude types and hope the next individual is polite, respectful and caring.
Sometimes it's difficult I know, but there are some of these types still around.

Whatever you do, never let it get you down, and try to think of something happy.
If all else fails, call one of your girlfriends and tell he what bastards men are!

I agree that manners cost nothing and we should be polite and respectful on the phone at all times. I can say though that some of the girls I have spoken to could learn a little about this also. Its a minority by the way!! I have had some terrible attitudes on answering the phone and it makes me just go somewhere else straight away.

While in Ireland I met many people who had a lack of manners, so much so that I began to be an expect in reading people's lack of manners, almost like a fortune teller reads cards-a person's lack of manners tells you their past, present and future if you know how to read them! This worked in my benefit since Irish people like to think Americans are stupid--suffice to say the joke was on them!
