The fianna fail party is pretty much on its knees and i feel that senior tds forced him out in the end as no doubt they would be slaughtered in the general election polls.It is in my view that he will go down as the most inept individual and most hated man since cromwell....

From what I can gather it seems he intends staying on as Taoiseach until the election but someone else will be the new FF leader.But I could be wrong about that.

I guess he will be a shadow taoiseach..basically its more of a title. Whoever the new FF leader will be will call the shots...

That's the best news I heard in ages. Things would have been bad no matter who was taoiseach at that time but he did make alot of mistakes. That's what the party needed. It would have no chance with him still there. . Micheal Martin will be the next leader I would say. If they choose Brian Lenihan then there as bad as ever

Looks like there will deffinatly be a change of government soon

There was always going to be a change of government no matter who was leader of FF but with Cowen now gone they may now do a little better in the election.One question now is who will the new leader be.My money is on Micheal Martin.

I don't like bertie too much either but both are as bad as each other...brian cowen was finance minister during the aherne years and surely played a massive part in our downfall....
