Why do all the good threads get locked?

Didnt say you were one. Its just the way the mods sometimes treat ppl here like children by essentially telling them to "play nice". Sometimes folks disagree on certain issues and that may lead to an argument. I say let them get it out as long as they arent all "Shut up fuckface, you knows nothin".

In fairness we do usually leave people vent but then it starts going to far so it ends up locked

I will. Totalitarianism is bound to fail and you are becoming increasing dictatorial. You may be able to control your message Dooozer, but you aren't going to control the rest by locking threads and metaphorically sticking your fingers in your ears. Hence the frustration.

No, I would like to see some effective moderation. Ask posters to desist. Perhaps put your thoughts to the thread. Moderation and dictation are separate things.
