Even Gibson could do a decent job in midfield
Yep,but will Trap play them.I don't think so,Fahey should have been a regular at international level a fair time ago.

He is only doing what 99% of players would do.

True but that was only brought in recently so players like Robbie would have missed out on a lot of the contributions

Keith Fahey, Shane Long and Kevin Doyle to start for sure, Robbie is only a supporting character now, and he is pretty foolish (or is being badly advised) if he won't go to Birmingham...

his old mate Quinno might help him out at Sunderland esp if they get 18 million for Bent .

    Birmingham's a kip - don't blame him.

On a more serious note, it said in the news earlier that he wanted the wage top-up to compensate for the expense involved in the move of house.

Personally, I don't have an issue with this. He only has a couple of years left at the top, and he should maximise his earnings.

I am a bit disappointed at people's reactions, to be honest. Every move he made was made for a football reason, and his loyalty has never been questioned. His goals for Ireland will probably not be exceeded for a long, long time. The major blip in his career was with Liverpool, but given the number of players who excelled AFTER they quit Benitez's Liverpool, I can see that the blame doesn't necessarily lie with Keane.

Bear in mind that Robbie continued to bleed a wage out of Leeds after he left 'em, even as they spiralled down in to division 1.

He is pretty mercenary but I do believe he should maximise earnings now coz he'll be fuck all use as a pundit or a coach.

Don't get me wrong I've cheered every goal in a Green Jersey but sometimes I think he's been something of a millstone....

No doubt about it, the cry goes out that our top players are not getting 1st team football, Keane gets the chance and reckons he is worth more than 83,000 a week, what a joke. His days in the Irish jersey are surely over, mind you who knows what Trapp will do... give me Doyle any day for total commitment.
I can still remember and cringe when I think of Keane pleading his case on the Late late... what an idiot
