A Christian therapist who agreed to ‘convert’ a gay man who said he wanted to change his sexuality could be struck off the U.K’s Counselling Registry.

Lesley Pilkington faces sanctions for agreeing to help undercover journalist Patrick Strudwick become heterosexual. Strudwick secretly recorded Pilkington during two sessions and when he asked if she viewed homosexuality as ‘a mental illness, an addiction or an anti-religious phenomenon’, she replied ‘It is all of that.’

Strudwick, a journalist and gay rights activists, subsequently complained to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Mrs Pilkington is challenging the complaint on the grounds that homosexual orientation is ‘a lifestyle choice’, and says her method of therapy – Sexual Orientation Change Efforts (SOCE) – is legitimate and effective. She also claims that Pilkington unlawful entrapped her.

Funnily enough I was reading an artical on Hormones and Brain struture recently and there is a theroy that homesexuality can be caused by an abnormal gland in the brain which secretest an inciffeciant amount of tetsosterone and other chemicals that could alter ones sexuality. It was found in their sample of homoesxuals that, all of them lacked one or more hormones or had double the amounts of another that they should have.

Now I am not saying that being gay is down to a defective gland or anything but it did make valid arguments

If you want to try to change your life one way or the other whats the problem. Should the hypnotists that "cure" smokers or lard arses be banned? What a joke that poor fella could be struck off because of some idiot thats so insecure about his OWN sexuality he has to ruin someone livelihood.

Hate (ok I dont hate it!) to get a rant started but this really pisses me off as a bi-sexual right on the the fence. Same as that twat on sky Louis Spence.... if a straight man talked about women the way he talks about other men the NIMBY brigade would be out in force.

Gay men have insufficient amounts of testosterone....hmmmm!, interesting theory

I seem to remember seeing a study. Gay men had higher levels on average, but it wasn't statistically significant. I don't think it's something you could really determine in a study, unless you assume that closeted and out gays have the same level, which sounds dubious.
