how come i can give thanks to some people and not to others?

Just looked a this thread and Lucys and Carlos responses on very last page and can see "Thanks" option there???
can you see there other icons or jast "thanks" icon is missing??

Ive reported this issue. Thanks for bringing this to our attention
That has happened to me on occasion. I just logged out and logged back in and the 'thanks' option was available again.
Bugs in the system I suppose.
