Don't believe I would sign up to one or ask anyone to do it either no matter how much I had. Think it makes a strong relationship or marriage seem artifical.

I think they have never been tested in the courts, which is different to them having no contractual merit.

Anyway these days with Irish courts, wouldn't it just be cheap to knock her off?

I certainly believe in the theory, that what each individual brings with them at the start of a relationship should still be theirs if the relationship breaks up.
And anything earned or accrued during the relationship should be divided equally.

That's a very good point and I agree but tell a judge that it always seems to be the woman walking away better off.

A bit theoretical for me as I've never been married. However, I do think a pre-nup makes sense when one one or both parties are extremely rich.

I am not and will never be in that ultra-rich camp, so don't intend to sign a pre-nup should I settle down. A pre-nup puts practicality ahead of romance. It's a bit of a mind trip as you go into a marriage with a legal document stating - 'what if this fails?'
