Age of Concent
I always thought it was 18 but apparently it's 17. And some bill or other is doing the rounds of parliment at the moment proposing it be lowered to 16.
What's the minimum age that E-I will advertise ? I suspect it's 18. Why is that if the legal minimum is 17 ? Just curious ....

16 in the UK seems very young.
In Denmark it is 15 years old. 18 for legal prostitution.
The age of consent should be lower, it should be the age that teenagers are having sex at, it should not be illegal for two ppl the same age or close to it to have sex, what ever the age there should resemble reality, I mean kids are having sex younger and younger, did you know if 2 15year olds have consensual sex the boy can still be prosecuted for statutory rape and not the girl? That's just wrong!
I don't agree with people having sex so young but the law has to resemble reality, that said I think the best thing is for there to be various ages of consent let's say 13-15 and 15-17 what I mean is two 13s can have sex or a 13+15 but not a 17+13.
My friends and I all lost our virginity at the ages of 13-16, which was and is illegal, that was 15 years ago young ppl now are at it even younger, channel 4 did a documentary in which 11+ were having sex.
Don't agree with it myself but it is reality and the law should really reflect it, but in a common sense way

The legal age of consent in this country is currently 16, the legal age to become an escort is 18 in this country.

I lost my virginity at 19, quite an old age for some!
I think 16 is the youngest a person should have legal sex at, 18 for escorts considering the pressures this life can bear on ladies.
Anything under this age for me is unacceptable. I would like to raise the age to 18, but I know this would never happen.
Just think of your daughters - how young would you like them to experience sex at?

Don't agree with lowering the age of consent. Will only put pressure at an earlier age to have sex.

yes but just imagine a 16 year old boy having sex with his girlfriend, maybe going out a year or so, sex is consensual, but the father of the girl goes to the cops, the boy can be done for rape, that's just not right!!
The law should be relative to the ages of both parties, yes if a 20 year old has sex with a 15 year old that's illegal and should remain so but two people the same age should not be.
I feel very strong about this and I'm speaking from personal experience, I know 2 15 year olds who had sex and believe it or not it was the girls idea, (girls seem to mature mentally faster than boys) anyway the girls father a friend of mine found out and went mad, guards involved and everything poor boy was in an awful way as was the girl, they had been dating for almost 18 months, the girl openly said it was her idea and that they loved each other but it didn't matter legally the boy was in the wrong!
That's just not right! It took me weeks to convince the father to stop, which he did but the poor young fella is known locally as a rapist and had to change schools, phones etc. they are still boyfriend and girlfriend.
No one can tell me it's right to be able to ruin someones life like that!!!!
I know fathers are protective of their daughters, I would be too but there has to be reason and equality, which there isn't at present.
