The age of consent is much less in some countries. In Mexico I believe it's about 12 or 13 - which is fucked up.

I think laws on statutory rape should not apply to minors engaging in consentual sex. By that I mean that a 15yo boy should not be branded a rapist for having consentual sex with a 15yo girl. Maybe the girl doesn't have the legal capicity to consent, but in that case the boy shouldn't have the legal capacity to be charged with statutory rape.

I'm not sure how clearly separated intercourse is from other sexual activities. I think the motive for an age of consent, is the maturity to competently decide to engage in activity which can result in pregnency/childbirth, or STIs. Maybe the age should be different depending on what protection is used.

I'm thinking escorts should be at least 20, but then girls mature quicker. definatly shouldn't be lower than 18 ( for escorts ).
