Glad you wanted non-fiction suggestions because I'vet not been albe to read ficion in over ten years-don't have the patience for novels, I guess But here's a couple of books
    I've enjoyed:
Keith Richards' autobiography 'Life'' Really good for guilty pleasures

    '
Michael Lewis, 'The Big Short, explains the financial meltdown in 'laymans' terms.

Mark Booth's 'The Secret History of the World tmysetl', can't decribe it myself so Ill let Amazon do the talking t''hIn this groundbreaking and now famous work, Mark Booth embarks on an enthralling intellectual tour of our world's secret histories. Starting from a dangerous premise?that everything we've been taught about our world's past is corrupted, and that the stories put forward by the various cults and mystery schools throughout history are true?Booth produces nothing short of an alternate history of the past 3,000 years.

From Greek and Egyptian mythology to Jewish folklore, from Christian cults to Freemasons, from Charlemagne to Don Quixote, from George Washington to Hitler?Booth shows without a doubt that history as we know it needs a revolutionary rethink, and he has 3,000 years of hidden wisdom to back it up.''

    Ok. Great response.
Felt like a bit of guilty pleasure so I've picked up Keef Richards book.
But there's a few suggestions there I'm definitely going to investigate.
And I'd never jump to the conclusion that a book is girly shit, just because it's called 'jackie loves johnser ok'. Honest !!

    Good stuff!

    Thanks all

"To Kill A Mocking Bird" by Harper Lee is 50 years old this year and is still one of the greatest books ever to come out of the U.S.A .
    I would highly recomend it

One I would recommend is Shane Ross's The Bankers.

For such a dry subject, it is entertainingly told, and very informative

Thanks Bruno for starting this thread and everyone that has responded.
Got a voucher for christmas and never know what to buy. Takes a bit of time to read a book, so want it to be worthwhile. Now I have some great ideas myself to look into
