Sorry to hear about this EP, it is a serious pain in the ass, but I would follow the advice of Sharkskin, in addition to doing what he said, you may want to get an external drive and move all important files, pictures, and other documents to it just in case worst-case scenario you have to format the thing. Also the next time you are considering purchasing a new computer, you may want to consider a Mac. Hang in there.
