Exclamation Christmas - a time of joy or sadness

Tonight, I find myself wondering what life is all about.
Right now, I feel so lonely and alone, but I'm not depressed....at least I don't think I am.
The last year has been tough for most people, including myself, but I have always tried to keep my chin up, chest out, and a smile on my face.
I have a job, a family, money and a lot of friends......or are they just acquaintances.
I feel like going into a dark room, closing my eyes, and hoping I never wake up.
But I have a life worth living, so how must those that are a lot worse off than me feel.
People that have no job, no money, no family, no friends.
People with serious or terminal illness. How do they cope?

forrest you would be surprised how people with a serious or terminal illness cope.. many have a fantastic outlook in life and become the best battlers you shall ever meet..each day they are thankful for the life they have been given.. they see things in a different way and often enjoy what they have.. they take life by the horns as often they are unsure when it shall end.. you know something it aint just christmas that is a time for joy.. we should consider all days to be special..x

    Thanks for your reply Angel.
I have great admiration for the strength and courage shown by those in far worse physical and mental state than me.
You are right, we should live life to the max at all times, no matter how hard it might seem.

I'm truly sorry that this time of year causes you such sadness and pain.
I was feeling low last night, but the responses from you, Doc and Angel gave me hope.

Christmas is a time of joy and happiness.
Forget the presents and all the rubbish on the telly , its about being with family and friends and feeling that warm glow of feeling loved by those nearest and dearest to you.
Its about having someone to talk to on those cold lonely nights and knowing you are not alone.
Its the small things in life that matter most.

I almost forgot to publicly thank WestCorkLad for his pm last night.
As I said previously, I was feeling low last night, but reading his pm this morning made me realise I am not alone. With friends like WCL, and those that replied to my thread, I will never be alone, at least in the virtual world of the internet.
