    It's a strange one. Because our culture accepts cats as a domesticated animal, we associate them with human attributes and they become part of the family as such. The thought of eating something that is perceived to be this way is almost as daunting as the prospect of cannibalism! It's the same principal as eating dogs or even rabbits; people just can't stomach the thought of them being potential pets that have become fodder, but culturally our perspectives are diverse, so what is strange to us would be the 'norm' of someone else.

    There was talk on the news not too long ago that as far as resources go, humans may have to start getting used to eating more insects as part of a normal diet, as this will eventually be the only food left in abundance. Again, this is the norm in a lot of places.
