If you are thinking of buying winter tyres be very careful. Tyres with M&S on the sidewall are NOT winter tyres they are mud tyres. Winter tyres that you need for these conditions have a snowflake on the sidewall. This indicates that the tyre compound is correct for the cold weather. The normal tyres we use go hard at 7 degrees and below and this is what makes them crap in this weather. Proper winter tyres for our conditions need to withstand -10 degrees and this is achieved by compound design and not tread design. The problem is that proper winter tyres are shite in dry weather and wear out very quickly so you need a winter set of tyres and an ordinary set. I have proper snow tyres on my 4x4 and the grip is astonishing, particularly on the polished ice that is still on the un ploughed M11 from J22 to the end.
Buy the socks - they are brilliant and piss easy to fit. Pm me if you need more winter tyre info and somewhere to buy the right tyre.

Yes I've heard juggling with more than 3 objects can be tricky.
