The beatles were/are crap

I have mixed feelings on the Beetles. For starters they ,as a band ,wouldnt be for me. However when compared with other similar bands of their day ,they were light years ahead although not as light years ahead as Bill Hailey and The Comets were. So putting things in persepctive the Beetles were icons of their day and for their time very good.

Heres where my mixed feelings come in. I hate McCartney. Think he is a shit singer and musician and think he is a two faced bollox. I think even less of Ringo Starr as a musician. Harrison on the other hand was a fine musician and quite good. Lennon was a legend. An excellent innovative musician who would prob be in the top 20 of of all time.

So they werent for me but their record speaks for itself. I also think Abbey Road cover was one of the most original album covers around.

Elvis was miles ahead of his time and i would light the fire with his shit. Saying someone is lights years ahead of their time and saying that they are good are two different things.

They are the Ultimate Boy Band, I love their earlier stuff, but not so keen on the later stuff where they went all Pyscadelic etc. Have a lovely print of the Famous Norman Parkinson Photo which i used to have over my mantle ( but got replaced by cat pics)! Cant bear to sell it as had it since i was student and love the picture.
