Default What Do You Do In The Dark, And The Demons Come?

Right, I'm having a shit time lately and it's affecting my sleeping. I usually go to bed between midnight and one AM, doze off after half an hour, then wake up promptly at four fucking AM and lie there like a spa until it gets bright. Then I doze off for a while again. I get blinding headaches the evening after I don't get enough sleep. (It's amazing the twisted things you think about in a bedroom lit by stars and streetlights.)

I am willing to try anything to sleep all night. Please, my fellow forumites, try to curb your usual retardations with this one - someone's got to have a good tip. I don't want to get drunk, knock back a truckload of pills, or take a bloody bath every evening.

There must be something I can do?

I continually read the most boring stuff you could imagine like social policies etc. That really helps me to get over to sleep.

Have you tried wanking? I'm serious.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

    1) Take some exercise in the evening, but not too close to bed-time

    2) Definitely no alcohol or pills - its not proper sleep you get after that.

    3) Read for half an hour before lights out

    4) Try and develop regular patterns - getting up, going to bed

Work harder during the day, try exercise, I suffer from that as well, the only exercise I get is with my left hand.

    Once a prick - always a prick.

I tend to agree with Benny. No big meals too late and reading might also help to tire you out. The temperature of your bedroom may also be a factor. Lots of exercise, walking, fresh air should also help you sleep......but the best exercise of all is a jolly good horizontal jog and you sleep like a baby after that.
