I am reasonably new to this game and notice a number of standard rates advertised including 30 mins, 1 hour, 3 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours etc., but not for 45 minutes.

For me 30 minutes is never long enough while 1 hour is sometimes too long, perhaps due to time constraints, finances etc.

I would rather E-I drop one of the other rates and included a 45 minute rate.

Yes, you can ask your escort what she charges for this time but sometimes you get a strange rate so it may be better to opt for one of the other more popular rates.

Anyone have any views, or is it just me that likes 45 minute appointments the most?

Mark, you're obviously a soccer fan looking for a 45 minute rate. As a rugby fan, I would rather have a 40 and a 80 minute rate, with a few minutes thrown in for free to allow me to switch ends.
