Saw this on the news at 6 tonight . He will be sentenced before 9 pm tonight and i'm hoping the judge shows no mercy . He only allowed his mother out once a week to collect her pension . The article has somewhat surprisingly left out that he kept them naked at times

I think 15 years is a bit harsh considering the sentences handed down in the past for other offences, but it's about time the courts started to get tougher. I forgot to say, I thought 10 years would be a reasonable sentence.

The cost of keeping a prisoner in Ireland is one of the highest in Europe.

Punishment it seems is only to take away a persons liberty, nothing else.
The European Court of Humane Right ensures this is so.

Therefore many prisoners who have committed terrible crimes are living lives much preferable that they would have done in private. The only difference is their lack of liberty.

Many of us work long and hard to make a living - escorts and punters alike, many of us working 60-80 hours a week.
We may gripe about each other at times regarding service provided, the amount escorts, agents and websites charge, but we all need each other, we each provide a basic need whether financially, emotionally or business related.
Even to this day I do not know who gains more from the relationship - punter, escort or service provider (E-I).
I hope we each receive a mutual benefit in return.

Getting back to prisoners, what annoys me most is the high cost of keeping such prisoners in so called luxury when the county is near bankrupt.
I am not talking of petty crimes or crimes the state has unjustifiably criminalised whether sex or drug related.
I am talking of dreadful crimes which any right minded person would fine repellant: rape - torture - murder etc.

If another punishment could be implemented which would be both affordable and satisfied the needs of the victim, would this be acceptable to society?
