A Christian couple that have been barred from fostering children because of their views on homosexuality are set to appeal their case to the U.K’s High Court.

Eunice and Owen Johns, 62 and 65, said questions were raised over their suitability as foster carers after they told social workers they could not tell a child a homosexual lifestyle was acceptable.

The couple had applied to Derby City Council to be respite carers but withdrew their application after a social worker expressed concerns regarding their attitudes toward homosexuality.

According to the Christian Legal Centre, which has taken up their case, the couple are not homophobic but they are against sex before marriage and do not recognise civil partnerships between gay couples as marriage.

The case continues....

Should they be allowed to foster?
