    Default Personal Space

There is nothing I dislike more than going to a restaurant where the tables are close together and other people are literally in your face. It's the same on a bus, train, club, shop or anywhere at all except in bed. Does anyone else become as irritated as I do about this invasion of personal space? I also feel so very uncomfortable when I meet people for the first time and they give me a hug or a kiss on the cheek as it makes me literally cringe. I realise that these people are really friendly and mean the very best. Perhaps some psychological reason for this or maybe normal for some people. Not at all sure.

I used to live in Santander- it is normal to kiss when you first meet someone- which, as a quite reserved person, took some getting used to. What was amusing is when I popped home for visits, as I was so used to kissing I did it automatically. The look of abject horror on some faces when I went to kiss them was amusing.

Yep, personal space is very important. One thing that irritates me is the way some men put their hands on your shoulder.

On another note, Luce. Based on all your posts on E-I I would never have considered you a reserved person lol
Thank you all the ladies I had pleasure of meeting. Forever grateful for the memories

Ah, perhaps Lucy isn't. I am, slightly. It should be remembered I wasn't always an escort Rodders

I actually dont mind this at all whether its a man or a woman although its important to realise, in the case of some women that do this they are just friendly and doesnt mean they are madly in love with you.

I have no problem at all with a hug or kiss from a female, whether she is a friend or a stranger. we all need a great big hug now and again.
But a hand shake ( note I said hand shake :-) ) is as far as it goes from male friends or strangers. Anything more is too much :-)
