    Default Have you changed???

There's a line in a song that I often think of, it's the Luther Vandross song "Dance with my father again"..........

YouTube - Luther Van Dross-Dance With My Father Again

And it's the opening line "Back when I was a child, before life removed all the innocence" bit that always gets me going, or thinking...........

Having read Bustybronte's thread, very interesting BTW, I was just wondering do people think they've changed, either because of age of through their job or career???

I know I have, I guess it's hard not to, through life experiences, lost loves, lost friends etc., and I'm sad to say, through work and business. Now I have no problem with change, it's part of life, growing up and growing old, but I hate that I've changed because of my job, work, business or money, and I think I probably have...........

I could only begin to imagine how the lovely ladies here do what they do, with all the emotions etc. that go with it, and are still expected to smile and live a normal life beyond all that...........

I have to remind myself every day to be more tolerant of others, be more excepting, more understanding and to remember that everyone has their problems..........

I try to remember not be such a hard ass, try to remember what I use to be like, and try to be like I was before........

    Have you changed???

    Why???

Do you just accept it or do you try to be more like what you once were, accuming you think you were better then???

In some ways, I have changed for the better, but also some for the worse.

    On the upside

I don't lose my temper as much.
I'm more accepting of other people's opinion.
I am a more confident person.

    On the downside

I hate that I have cheated on my partner. Up to 5/6 years ago the thought never entered my head.
There are no adequate excuses for what I have done and, for that, I am ashamed.

I've changed over the years a serious accident when I was young lost loves bereavments made me a stronger person more confident & more accepting of situations & problems in life certainly made me more ambitious as I had been very shy & inward on the negative side I guess lifes experiences have told me how untrustworthy people can be so I tend to be very cautious with people I wish it hadnt changed me in that way...

I most definitely have changed, recent course of events in my life didn't allow me to just continue my life as I lived it.

Whether it was for the best or the worst, I leave this judgement upon others, who know me.
Is this the land where sun brightly shines, is this the existence of a heaven's sign?
Is this the locus the hallowed focus, where grace love and harmony combine?

Haven't we all changed? When we are at secondary school we KNOW IT ALL......not till you are older that you realise how naive you were really. I guess you are, like me, on the mature side darling (thats one of my fav songs too)
You sound like a really nice guy BTW and you sound like you have "mellowed" from what I can gather

    I changed with marriage
    changed with divorce
changed when my heart was broken at 16
changed when my mum died last year
changed when I had been escorting for a couple of years

Life is full of changes and it's lesrning to deal with them, adapt and learn.

Love and family are all that really matters to me......

I can get over all other shit just knowing that

Yes, I have changed. Or rather, my perceptions of life have. I find that the biggest change has been after bereavement. I do not have same security or happiness as I did as a child, growing up only becomes real when you are expected to be a grownup.

I think everyone changes for better and for worse in different areas ,the reason being is alot of these are on opposite ends of the same stick so its hard to be one without not being the other.

The biggest changes for me are from bereavement in that i lost all tolerance of bullshit. After seeing a close relative go through so much i really have no desire or inclination to be wondering about bullshit. This of course makes me less tolerant which isnt necessarily a bad thing at times but not exactly a good trait to have either.

A big change for me, is being less reliant on material things and more reliant on who i am deep within. Of course i have to have material things and i need money to live but as i go on in life i have a stronger desire to discover the me deep inside and also the desire to turn against the norm and listen ,really listen to the little voice inside of myself. I just find myself on this constant journey of looking for ways to go beyond limits. I cant even put it into words as such only on my own self spiritual path that encompasses all physical and emotional mastery.

    Fuck thats deep shit,

Everyone changes. I have definitely changed over the years. I wouldn't try and be like I used to. I'm happier the way I am now compared to ten years ago. I think it's a good thing I changed. Experiences make you change. People don't suddenly change. It evolves over time.

Everyone changes for better or for worse. I ahve changed many times, but the changes dont always have to be negative.
Thankfully I havent had any major life altering incidents that some of the other posters have had. (My condolences for all those who have lost someone close ) But still there are still small incidents that dont change you instantly but do over time due to porlonged exposure to them. And as was said above its not how you change that matters its how you react to them that counts.

Human beings are remarkable as we tend to have the ability to adapt to most circunstances and not only function but thrive on change by making the best of their own situation

    I've just changed.

The heat is on, so decided that shorts and a T-shirt would be more comfortable. I'll probably change again for bed.
