Default How to post a link...........

Ok, following some requests and posts on the forum about posting links. For those who don't know how, here goes........

Firstly select the page you want to link to and then highlight the url. To do this, place the cursor over the url and right click. This will highlight the url in blue and give you some options. Click the copy option. Here's a link showing how to copy and paste. Copy and Paste - Learn how to Cut, Copy and Paste in seconds! - making copies, moving text, editing on the computer

Be it a link to an escorts profile here or a link to an external site (be warned, there are restrictions to this.Click here and scroll down for details) it's basically the same............

Then go to the thread or post where you want to post the link and click the link icon........

Name:	Link icon.jpg
Views:	71
Size:	26.3 KB

This will then open up another box like this...........

Name:	link.JPG

You then need to put your cursor in the space, to the right of the http:// in blue bit, right click, this will again give you some options, click on paste, and then click OK, then just submit your post as normal........

Just a few things to be aware of. You need to copy and paste the entire url or web address otherwise the link won't work, and when you paste the address and it appears in your post, before you submit your post, make sure http:// only appears in the address once, otherwise the link again won't work.........

Alternatively, if you copy and paste a url directally into a post, without clicking the link icon etc. I think it will probably automatically pick it up as a url and post it correctally when you submit your post anyway. I don't think this works with every site so just to be sure I usually click the link icon.........

    Hope this helps............

If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask and I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.......

Feel free to practice your copy and paste here...........

This is just the easy way. There are others so if anyone wants to show them, or if I've made a balls of this, again feel free to post about it here..........

Please try to keep this thread fairly much on topic and no pictures.Just links to pictures allowed here............

The only times I've had trouble with this, simpler, method is when there is punctuation after the address. For example, if you say "I love http://www.escort-ireland.com/home.html." then the server will be really dumb and will include the full stop at the end in the address. So you have three choices:
    - use the more complicated method,
    - paste address directly into the text and check the links with the "preview post" button, or
    - don't use punctuation after addresses.

Extra credit question: The text https://www.escort-ireland.com/home.html above is not a link. Why didn't the server automatically convert that address into a link?

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

    Just a note......

If you want to link to a particular post in a thread, if you click the post number and then copy the url, the link will bring you directally to that post..........

The post number is located below the green section, in the grey area of every post, in the top right corner, accross the page from the date and time........

    This post number is #3.........
