    Question HSE New Patient Charter

The new HSE patient charter, includes a commitment that lesbian and gay people can expect to be treated with respect and dignity when they use health and social care services.

My question Is. Should we require an amendment to the existing charter, surely we should ALL be covered by the current patient charter?

    What do YOU think?

Has there ever been a patient that hasn't received respect and dignity in hospital due to their sexuality ? I've been a patient in a few different hospitals , and at no time was i asked what my sexual orientation is , so i find this new charter complete bollox

Just like Rimmerguy, i have never been asked my sexual orientation. With regards this new charter I would say it is merely a formality, just a way to put it in writing that nobody will be discriminated against.

Its just another thing in a long line of stupid things. Why we have to deal with stuff like this amazes me. All people should be treated with respect and dignity, period!
