i had to change both my username, when i first joined, AND my avatar, cos some arsehole complained about them, and deemed them offensive.. if it was a football forum, where kids were online all the time, or a website about morals or something fucked up like that i could understand. but this is a forum linked to a website that openly advertises ALL types of prostitutes. its a bit rich in my opinion.. not that im complaining.. i dont really give a shit, cos thats how i cunting well bastard well fucking well shitting well roll.. deedin it do be!

Dom could have handled it differently but I don't think there is much wrong with this way either, just because someone makes a complaint about an image being offencive it does not mean they are automatically right. Even on the Sky channels pussy shots are allowed it's just Erect penis's and insertion shots that are x-rated..
I don't think Sam handled it badly either, it was a judgement call and you gotta respect that, it wasn't personal, just doing his job..

Okay... I'm not here to censor the boards. Yes, one person was particularly offended by the avatar... the picture was of a vagina being pulled apart. I am aware that this is an adult themed site, so I did POLITELY ASK Dom to change his avatar. It was not an imperative.

As it happens, I saved the avatar. However, as luck would have it, my computer crashed yesterday and had to do a system restore. For some reason, in the process the picture (along with several others) had been lost. However, if Dom has a copy of this avatar, he may send this to me and I will reactivate it.

Like I say, I ASKED him and temporarily exchanged it for an alternative avatar. Should he have politley declined, the result would have been the same anyway... I would have heard him out and changed his avatar back anyway. Instead, I received a PM (similar to the comments in the original post) telling me that I've been here for 2 months, etc. and I'm telling people what to do. To be honest, I'm not going to get into an argument about something that could have been easily resolved with good manners.

It seems that the attitude can quite often be, "I don't like it, so I'll start a witch hunt!" Good manners often goes a little further people...

I thank you for your comment there mate. I think this whole situation has been blown WAY of of perspective. Like I say, it only needed Dom to decline and I would have PM'd the person making the complaint to say that I've asked Dom to change his avatar, and he feels that he shouldn't see why he had to. In all fairness, there was no breach of rules, hence the reason it was a request rather than an order.

Nobody's infallible. Just because I'm management, it doesn't automatically make me a jumped up little nobody.

his reaction was to remove temporarly and discuss it with dom...ffs how is that bad???? dom could have had this sorted this morning without us all knowing about it.One complaint is still one and deserves to be looked into and thats all sam was doing
