    I am dangerously bored so...

    Today In History!

Notable events on this day in history:

1561 - King Philip II of Spain forbids Spanish settlements in Florida (this is why no-one speaks Spanish in Miami to this day)
1746 - Jacob Gilles appointed Dutch pension advisor (his advise - buy tulips, lots of tulips. they never go down in value)
1879 - Richard Rhodes invented a hearing aid called the Audiophone (he did what? speak up!)
1938 - Time capsule, to be opened in 6939, buried at World's Fair in NYC. Capsule contained a woman's hat, man's pipe & 1,100' of microfilm. (does this need a comment?)
1973 - Largest known prime, 2 ^ 132,049-1, is discovered. (It's only that big when it gets aroused, though)
1979 - Somali constitution approved by president. (how's that working out for them?)
1983 - Columbia moves to Vandenberg AFB for mating in preparation of STS-9 (say what?)
1986 - Congress selects the rose as US national flower (Awwww)
1990 - Saddam says he will destroy Israel (how's that working out for him?)

    Notable deaths:

1939 - Sigmund Freud, created psychoanalysis, dies at 83 (PENIS)
1995 - Odut Joseph Olutola Oluola Oguntala, soho club owner, dies at 74 (shrug, me neither. but what a name!!)

    I did warn you.

You are missing the most important event which happened on this day 251 years ago: the Guinness brewery was formed.
