    Default Off Topic?

Just reading through a lot of the threads on here and there seems to be a lot of Off Topic reports.

I can understand that action when people crash a thread for no good reason but surely the natural progression of most threads is to wander off topic, henceforth proven by the fact that at some point in time all relevant information about the topic would be covered etc, etc.

It's just quite amusing to me to see people acting like moderators when they aren't moderators, or are no longer a moderator.

Surely if you see something that doesn't conform to the rules then it is up to the moderators to correct this? It seems like a small number of members deem it their responsibility to police this forum even though they are not actually authorised to do so. Maybe these people have too much time on their hands as when I come across a post that is obviously off topic I just move on and forget about it safe in the knowledge that the team of moderators on here (which I think is doing a wonderful job) will step in if needs be. Some people obviously don't think enough of the moderators to allow them to do their job without stepping in and attempting to correct people.

In closing I'd just like to add that if you want to be a moderator then you should go and get a job as a moderator on another forum or wait for a spot on this forum to free up and make an application.

Incidentally, as the original poster of this topic I really don't care where (if indeed anywhere) this topic goes from here.

    Thanks.

    Jack
