Is it a good idea to OUT someone (tell others that they are gay), or not?

Are there circumstances when it is acceptable?, or is it never acceptable?

I don't think it's fair to maliciously OUT someone, it's their own personal business what sexual orientation they are but I can see where it might happen accidentally, guy try's it on with you, you knock him back and tell someone next thing everyone knows.

But in fairness most would know a gay individual and were it to come out that they actually were 9 times outta 10 it wouldn't be a surprise..
