Ber was, sorry IS (I know he is lurking) a strong, solid E-I figure.
Most of the so called "new generation" didn't get this and associated it with being stubborn.
I would say he is the kind of guy that gets a lot of power and attention in real life (I heard he's very rich too) and being used to have much authority, he probably didn't like to feel ... well, a little ridiculed ... by others.
I didn't always get him and I didn't agree with his "no pics" requests but at least I refrain to post on his threads if I didn't approve them. People wishes should be respected, if it doesn't take much from us. Especially because he has some unresolved issues about the off topic threads he wanted to prove a point there.
