Nicegirls, Anti depressents do not cause homicide or suicide. Depression does. If a non depressed person took anti depressents would she/she commit suicide or homicide. No. In fact most people who take them do not have suicidal/homicidal tendencies.

I cannot garuntee that people have not commited these acts while on the medication but I argue if they had not taken the meds and were depressed would they still commit these acts.?

Should us punters be worried? Am I going to end up dismembered in some escort's fridge?
Very narrow minded. The literal term of 'psychopath' or 'sociopath' is a person who does not feel empathy, or doesn't feel empathy like a 'normal' person. In simple terms, psychopaths do tend to use extreme behaviour in order to stimulate their brains; they usually have very little stimulation in the part of the brain that gets excited and is often the case why some become serial killers.

I'm very sure that none of the girls I've spoken to have a problem with empathy, and don't do this to get a buzz! Another example of a generalisation about something so called professionals don't have a clue about. In my honest opinion, anyway.

There is no point in saying anything. Its the paper spouting the same old story to shift numbers
You are right there Sam about exictery and inhibtory neurons being fired which can lead to psycho-socail disorders but as with everything else there is more to it than that.

Haha! Thanks Doozer... I did actually forget the terminology myself. You are very right regarding the other factors too. It isn't as simple as generalising and putting things into pigeon-holes.

Like I said, "can of worms"

The drug companies do push new drugs and there are many back handers and so called "incentives" for the doctors:

I dont agree with alot of the conduct within this arena, like the amount of animal testing and doctors offering placebo's but there are many good drugs out there and many fantastic medical professionals that are all the positive things that they should be

Depression and mental health are a big subject and a little too controvertial for this board.....
