Exclamation Irish farming ,the scourge of modern society?

Now this isnt an attack on farmers in this country by myself but im wondering why some farmers just let things fall apart? Fences, crops etc they seem to just let them fall apart. Would it be that they would get goodies from the government? Surely any help that they get from our ailing government would be for good cause and not just because it suits someone who has no intention of fixing an issue?

    just wondering,
    Westside.

Westsidex, I was thinking: what will you do if you fail your Applied Maths exam? Will you make an appeal to have it recorrected by another person other than yourself?

I already sat all my exams. Believe it or not the Junior Cert isn't the highest known academic achievement for most parts of the country....

This might answer it, , think they checked it by satellite in the later years, no need for the department office types to get their shoes dirty in actual leaving the office

    Set-aside

So in essence they where paid to do nothing

    Crops???

Could you perhaps be referring to crops damaged by weather etc that are beyond salvage???

What would you suggest roof the the fields???

Maybe they should give a grant fot it............

Farming is a business like any other, if you have a crop in a field that's costing more to harvest that that it would yield does it make sense to harvest it???

Perhaps you should offer to pay more for your Irish products to ensure this doesn't happen........

    Same goes for dairy........

“In Ireland, as prices slip back to 23 cents per litre, we now have a situation where the costs of production are three cent higher than the price farmers receive.”

The Irish Times - Fri, Mar 20, 2009 - Farmers protest over milk prices

Any you're worried that the fences look nice???
