    To be fair, rock originates from blues (as does most music) but in the sense that rock tunes (usually) follow the pattern of a twleve bar blues riff.

    Nope but that s because there are so much kinds of metal now. It seems like as metal gets heavier ,older types become rock but they are still strictly metal. Even heavy bands from a few years back like Obituary are all of a sudden light. I reckon bends like Obituary will be rock soon LOL
