Freedom fighter or terrorist is a very fine line and your view depends which side of the line your looking from.

    eg.
Che Guevara south american freedom fighter north american terrorist.
Michael Collins Irish freedom fighter english terrorist.
Osama bin laden al-Qaeda freedom fighter everyone else terrorist.
    Its all about perspective.

I don't think we should make him out to be a saint either. I've always found him to be a bit of a bully and he was a gun man. But that's what was needed. Politics had failed. The British had proved they couldn't be trusted to follow through on agreements so violence was the only solution.

How do people think things would have turned out if he'd lived?

Never forget Thatcher once called one for greatest men ever to have walked this earth a “terrorist,” she was referring to Nelson Mandela.

I understand that. But certain journalists don't when It comes to Collins. Also, I'm not keen on placing our on modern morals on the past.

There were loads, Barry , Breen, Mckeon etc. Colins was just the more famous of them.

Funny how nobody refers to Devalara as a terrorist. He was the same as Collins except kept his head down and was an opportunistic brat.

    Westside.
