All kinds of slavery (forced labour or sex slavery) are repulsing and so is violence against women, but all around the world women are everyday victims of abuse and violence and most of them are not prostitutes and the majority of those men have never visited a sex worker.

Reading the article I feel like a witch in inquisition time, as it seems a woman is supposed to be in this business only if she is being forced. Am I supposed to confess and repent as I have not suffered sexual or physical abuse and poverty as a child?

Mousey of course I understand that you don’t feel as if you have “used” escorts, don’t be mad The same way I don’t feel being used and NO Prostitution is NOT violence against women if they are doing it according to their own will.

Presumably some readers will assume that the whole industry is as it was described.

i will say one thing about Ruhama. If an escort genuinely felt that she would like to give it up and wanted advice on obtaining help to do it then fine. A street girl or a girl funding a bad habit like drink or drugs who wants to fix herself up and Ruhama helping her then fine but they should keep the issue at where it is and not based on what suits them at any given time.

Thats just hypocrisy and a dangerous one at that for escorts.

Ruhama have shown themselves to be vicious and nasty people. They are an empire of lies and I think that lies beget lies. I believe that truth and honesty and openness helps people in so many ways that is sometimes hard to see.

What about the drug addict who doesn't have the ability to go into prostitution? Why do Ruhama help prostitutes but not him/her?

If an escort or former-escort wants to take cheques and allowances and things like citizenship from Ruhama then that's her own business and I don't think many people would overly fault her as not many of us would just turn down free money for any but the most extreme reason. But it's still tainted money.

May I add that before I became an escort I had a relationship with a man who thought it was okay to waken me throughout the night and demand sex and belittle me after it... also on several occassions he would just hve demanded sex when and how he waned it.. he was a monster in more ways than one. though I have to say them I have met through my escorting life have always been nothing but gentlemen with me. respectful and always pleasant. so what does she have to say about the monsters who hid behind closed doors treating the women they are with like dirt raising their fists when they dont get what they want.. thats right women are suppose to sit back and take it cos they dont use escorts.. well my advice is for her to open her eyes and get of her butt and look at the dangers many women face from these so called nice guys..

What strikes me about this sort of press release / article is that Ruhama can say pretty much whatever they like, because they know there's nobody going to come out and debate the issue with them. Well, I'm not going to anyway. And if you go to their website you'll find some articles on the psychcology of men who use prostitutes. None of it is positive. That doesn't surprise me however as in my experience psychologists, psychiatrists, etc justify their existence by putting labels on people - the more negative the better. And then charging extortionate fees, of course.
The thing is I have no doubt there are girls out there who are trafficked or who do not want to be escorts / prostitutes. And that Ruhama have, probably, helped many women get out of the trade. That doesn't give these moral crusaders the right to judge others.
I'm angry being put in a category. I've never laid a finger on anyone in my life, man, woman or child. I've always tried to be honest, respectful and considerate when dealing with escorts, and the more I read this sort of article the harder I try.

These people remind me of the Nazis when they come out with stuff like this.
