    Default Torment ...

I applied this year to many many courses (as my dear Anna knows already )
All from level 6 to level 8, in Business, Accounts, Chemistry, Complementary Health Therapy etc ...

I was surprised to receive this morning a text message, an email and a letter about me getting a place on a level 8 course in Accounting & Finance. I am really tormented by this. This was my last application course with CAO, my first one being of a same type, in Business.

Working as a masseuse and getting a higher specialisation in accounts & finance
Who am I kidding? I already have a lower qualification there (level 6) and I do nothing with it.

Also ... if I actually accept this course, I won't have as much time for my massage services, which are my only bread and butter at the moment. That means I might find myself really short on cash sometimes.

There is the option that I go back to escorting for a while, so I can be able to manage both my studies and get also enough money to sustain myself. But for some reason I am a little afraid to do this

    Do you see my torment?
Studying without a hope I can do something with the qualification in the real life, plus the money issues while I'll do it.
Not studying, meaning that I have no idea what I'll do in a few years time ...

I feel like this now ...

I would go for it if I were you. If you don't, you may end up regretting your decision later in life.

Some seem to be able to combine the two. Give it a try

As long as you are over 25 you dont need to apply through the CAO just apply to the college or univeristy of your choice directly and they will set up an interview for you to see if you can enroll.

Well, it doesn't make much of a difference now, as I have already received the CAO offer.
I have applied to some courses trough CAO and trough some others directly.

From the ones I applied directly, I received so far just an interview for a Complementary Health Therapy course.
If you can believe it, this is a 2 years full time course !!! I think I prefer a 3 years part time degree, seems more rewarding.

I'll send a PM onto you tomorrow Miss Delights..
I've been in Universities for the last 20 years and there are a lot of options open to you that they don't make public because the numbers are limited.

For what it's worth, I did a degree in chemistry and I still get night terrors from it. I would advice scratching it off your list...
    Anything's a dildo if you're brave enough.

You should try for a course that you will use. As you've said you have level 6 in accounts and finance and you don't do nothing with it. The last thing you want is doing something that you are more than likely not going to get any benefit out of it, while at the same time leaving yourself short on cash.

The Open University seems like an excellent idea but I don't think I can remain commited enough for a few years to do all by myself.

When I did my level 6 accounting course I went to college the first year. I have passed all my exams with distinctions !

Second year, I did the course at home. I barely passed it. If anything I think they have been very kind to me as my taxation exam was a complete mess
