The ironic thing about your thread is that you title it "when do moderators cross the line" and then pretty much cross it yourself as a poster by making accusations of possible abuse of power ,on using info ,that mods dont even have access to.

This was already stated before. Mods have no access to personal info.

I accused nobody. I am sure if I had a real moderator would have asked me to redact my comment.

    It could be argued that

    thats an implication.

now they are on the other side of the fence they have access to information about members that they could use in a non-professional way.

Not true. Mods have no access to info on members bar their usernames ,that everyone can see. E-I staff do have access to ip addys and whatever else info they may have. Mods dont.

I must apologise Westie that I implied that mods do have access to some details earlier in the thread, but of course this was an assumption as being a forum manager, I have access to this as standard.

Please allow me to retract my initial post and reitterate that mods do not have this level of information.

Of course it could be argued that way, ANYTHING can be argued, fact of the matter is you are going off topic, you either have an opinion on the original post or you don't.

Sam, that wasnt my reason at all for my post. Most ppl know that mods dont have this access and it was safe to assume that you would also think that it didnt need clarification.

My reason for the post is if he has some comments to make about mods here ,he should at least have some credible grounds to base them on.

No, I know mate, but I thought I better make the point as I did imply that (in hindsight). It's not a big deal, just thought I'd mention it.

It seems this thread was initially set up under a misapprehension anyway.
