Luther is correct in saying Expect the Unexpected.
At this time of year there is always likely to be agricultural machinery on the roads especially the narrow country roads.
Its just a case of using your common sense.
The Truth is out there.
I'm with the farmers on this one.
If you're going around a corner at a speed that doesn't allow you to stop if there is something blocking the road, then you're driving too fast.
It's unreasonable to expect farmers to fore-warn at every corner, incase there's some lunatic coming along who can't drive at a reasonable speed.
Well i would often be on the road all day with a machine so putting some one in front of u is not practical, in instances with machinery over the prescribed with of 9 1/2 feet they do. Very few farm machines exceed this with on the road, most machines that have a working width which is wider fold up. The thing is if machines were any wider than this they would not be able to
access gateways to fields etc.
Also if u want to put something in front of Farm machinery well then trucks and buses take up as much room or more than
farm machines so are u going to do same for them?
As for the legal standing the law is totally different on narrow country roads, if u are driving a vechicle on these roads which
is wider than half the road u cannot physically make it fit in half the road and this is taken into consideration, so the onus is
on people driving these roads to be able to stop at all times.
This really is another instance of the urban rural divide country people accept that this machinery needs to be on the road
and take due care wheras urban drivers think the roads are like motorways where everybody has their own lane
Blatant promotion should be outlawed
