    Default thread closing

    Westie,

I read the thread earlier on tonight about the abuse thing and while I thought it was interesting to read your thoughts on the matter I would make two points:

    1. I think that in your frustration you may have closed the thread to prevent the possibilty of it becoming a sh*t fight and while I can understand that, I would say that this is a "community" and therefore closing a thread should be something that is handled with care and consideration. I have no view on the validity or otherwise of the thread, just that I feel that moderators should have a light rather than heavy touch on the board...

    2. After you closed the thread you allowed yourself another opportunity to post a further response. Again, while I can sympathise with your frustration, that is not fair. You cannot, despite your annoyance with people, have the ability to abuse power. You seem like an intelligent man who has a zany sense of humour and you yourself like to provoke comment and controversy so I would just like to ask you to think about that. I will accept fully that moderators have to put up with a lot, but it goes with the territory in a way.... I think that moderators really need to have such thick skin that it probably doesnt seem worth it sometimes, but if you have accepted the mantle I believe that one has to take the rough with the smooth or else it mightn't be the role for you.

Please don't take this personally, it is just my view on things (not just the thread I have mentioned) that I have watched happening recently and I am not suggesting that blame is limited to moserators.

    Thanks

    BLD

I saw this too. The thread was closed after a post at around 6pm. An hour later another post was added to it and the thread was still closed. The times of both posts can clearly be seen on the thread.

Thats all well and good but when i find two members of this commuinity trying to set me up and have me removed. I cannot elaborate on this any further. Its my view and my view only, not the other mods or E-I.

So im all for comments, when ppl have their facts right. I would love to, absolutly love to elaborate fully but its against the site rules so my hands are tied fully.

I wont be posting much on here for the time being as this is the only way for me to avoid being set up. Sometimes backing off is the best way to deal with a situation.

If you look at all my so called provoking youll find there is a lot of fact to it.

    Sincerely,
    Westside.

Blamed for something you didn't do? You were blamed for editing this post: https://www.escort-ireland.com/board...tml#post260463
The one where it says Last edited by Westsidex; Yesterday at 16:58. Reason: not interested at the bottom.
Then you freaked out when that decision was questioned.

I'm not sure what you're on about with this talk of people trying to get you removed as a mod. I've never tried to get you removed. If Pat wants my opinion on you as a mod then she is welcome to pm me, but she hasn't asked me and I haven't volunteered my views on the matter.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

If never said you. Your opinion of me as a mod or otherwise is meaningless to me. Like i said this isnt open to discussion.

If things aren't open to discussion then don't discuss them. Especially on closed threads, where no one can reply. And if you're going to discuss them anyway then at least try to be honest.

No offense West, but this is a prime example of why forum mods should not be part of the community. What happens when somebody posts a thread directed at me? Or at anybody else here? Where's our delete button? You can't use mod privileges to remove content that paints you in a bad light, regardless of whether it's true or not.

If this is the precedent - then I demand the post where anon called me gay to be removed...
    Anything's a dildo if you're brave enough.

Eh and hang on a minute - if your a "community mod" you can't just arbitrarily edit a post and stick "Not interested" as your reason. Also, you can't then defend yourself by saying "it's not open for discussion".

That's pathetic and you know it. You're like a spoiled child.

This is a community and the community has a right to know the details of why so called mods feel the need to edit posts.

That post everyone is referring to is my initial post on the Celebrity Punter Lookey-Likey Game thread. Westie, if you're getting your knickers in a twist because of the pic I put up, then I really don't think you have to worry - I'm sure everyone thought it was funny and took it in the spirit it was intended.
