    Default Rod Stewart

I just arrived from Rod Stewart’s concert at the O2.
I can’t say that I am a huge fan of his but I got a ticket as a gift from a dear gent and there I went tonight.
Rod Stewart in his 60’s is still very active ( he does like to move those hips) and he made the audience dance and sing along for two hours.
I didn’t know how popular he is in Ireland. It was amazing to see different generations there literally being part of the show.

The two ladies beside me (probably his admirer since 70’s) were having so much fun, singing, dancing and taking pictures of their idol as if they were teenagers, It was contagious to see them in such joy.

I just hope when I am at their age, I can be like them full of energy, full of joy and I still go to concerts and enjoy myself as they did tonight. What a lovely evening.

Has anybody else been to the concert?

Rod's what you call an entertainer; he's been putting out hits since I think late the 60's. I don't recall a decade that's gone by that Rod Steward hasn't had a hit; I especially like his 70's hit ''do you think i'm sexy?'' and his 80's hit 'young hearts'' and my all time favorite is his version of a very famous Soul song called ''People get ready' with his old band mate Jeff Beck.

Glad that you had a good time. I doubt that I'd pay to see him, but would be mighty pleased if I was as fortunate as you to receive a ticket as a gift. That was a very hot ticket to get

Hey, any singer that can keep fans and is still playing shows after thirty years probably deserves his success.

Yes, Anita, I don't think I would buy a ticket for almost €100 to go to see him either but as the opportunity arised I was glad to attend.

Mousey you are right but sometimes it can be a bit disappointing when you see them live, it seems that they are there only for the money. I didn't like much The Police, at the Crock Park in 2007, maybe the venue was too big, if it was at the 02, it could have been better, or it is just the way they perfom, not much interaction with the audience.

And not many 65-year-olds can get away with wearing a bright yellow satin jacket but Rod Stewart wears it well

Funny you mention the Police; I also saw them in 2007, but in America, and thought it was the worst concert i had every been to. The whole thing was flat, they sounded fine, but there was no energy; they performed well, but...

I was there myself, great show. He still really knows how to give it away even at his age.
