It is being abused by some but I suppose it helps when you send a lady a PM and she sees you have a reasonable rep it is fair to assume you are a genuine poster and ok to interact with. To me that is the most important aspect of it, not to be the big lad with the most rep...

So I send Pm to a girl I have not met before, expain the Reputation system, and then expain the various bars and that a comment like 'on the road to a brilliant future' is a sure sign of a great guy. Ridiculous.

It's not the be all and end all, it's just one way to make the boards safer for ladies to interact with potential genuine clients as it is unlikely a troll will have any sort of rep. Most of the ladies are already aware of rep as it has been discussed several times at this stage, so I don't see why if you managed to grasp the concept, they wouldn't

Does it really serve that purpose? There are some people who have lots of reputation bars because they are entertaining posters, but who I wouldn't trust very far at all. There are others who are perfect gentlemen, or so I've been told by some of the ladies, who have neutral or negative rep. If any ladies are assuming that a good reputation means a safe client then I would urge them to stop.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

You speak for 'most of the ladies' and can confirm their knowledge of this?
The few I have mentioned Trusted Reviewer or Reputation bar workings to have just expressed disinterest. They are here for a week, 10 days or so, some with little English...and to explain that 'On the Road to a brilliant future' is actually a guy with a good reputation and therefore is a safer bet! And also to highlight to them.... by the way it's not just escorts who can influence the Reputation bar...it's open to all posters...it's a ridiculous system.

There are exceptions to every rule El Gordo, I would never try to make out it is a perfect tool but it is a reasonable indicator that you are at least a regular poster. What she does with that is her business but it's only a small piece in the fight against trolls and trouble makers..

Ok I should have clarified to say in my opinion most of the regular contributors to the boards. Beside's apart from what I interpret as a positive to the rep bars, i find it usefull, I have the memory of a goldfish and sometimes it helps to see a decent rep and Know I'm dealing with a genuine member

So, is it for the safety of escorts or to aid interaction with members?

I am all for anything that can be done in Escort Safety area, but as already highlighted by Gordo, there are lots of people with Reputation bars that I would not recommend to any lady on here.

Do ya know what I think and I said it from the start...this rep thing is childish & cliqueish and should not exist. It is not a representation of who is a better poster or not. Its a rep of who is online the most. The number of posts is nearly directly proportional to the number of bars. Kinda silly really. I think I have posted before that all the buddies will rep each other. So where is the science in that...

In your rush to try and catch me out can you please explain why it cannot do both??
