this came up in conversation the other nite that people in nite clubs and pubs are using there phones too meet people through blue tooth its something to do with searching tru bluetooth . Wonders never cease with technology . I always though bluetooth was for a hands free kit . Or maybe i was being wound up . Any one ever hear of this

Ya I hheard the same. You can send messages, photos etc via bluetooth.

jesus lads... how old are ye...lol

.... you can send messages,photos ,vids via Bluetooth...

downside is some fu*kers can hack your phone and read you texts and look at your pics...
can control your phone from theres.... make calls ect..

friend did it to me and I wasnt happy...

What it is basically showing up your phone to a bunch of strangers....bad move.....any body could pick up any intimate or other txts...

Yes..thats it... it can be fun and handy to send things via bluetooth.. but like most things it is open to abuse...
if someone does get into your phone ..I think moment you switch off bluetooth it stops them having access... I think?

the usual trick is ill send ya a dirty pic/vid there and then you get a message asking if you wish your phone to be paired with this person and before you know it ...there looking at texts ect..

Its what is called as Bluejacking, 1st heard of it back in 2005 when they became a standard on most phones. Really basic is to set a contact and where the name is set a message ''hey you with the hair'' send it via bluetooth and when the recever get it it will show up as ''hey you with the hair''.

Another one is Bluesnarfing, basically hi-jacking the phone of contact list and photos.

Didnt really it was a done thing anymore.

Well not hack per say it would be potentially visible to everyone that had their bluetooth enabled/

It really bugs me when I'm in a shopping centre and they try to send an advert to your phone via Bluetooth!!!!
