    I think he was one of the finest snooker players of all time but it was plain to see he was wasting away to nothing in the last few months.His suffering is over...R.I.P...

    Alex gave a lot of snooker fans and the public at large some great tv moments when snooker was at it's peak. A flawed character yes but that was part of his appeal and he will be missed by all who watched the hurricane breeze around the green table, sometimes tappind the cue-tip off the edge of the table for luck just before a killer pot. RIP Alex.

    Like his fellow Belfast man George Best he was another person who rose to the top of his sport and wasted all the trappings of wealth on the high life.
    So so sad.

    Two differnent sports two very similar ppl in that sense,two of the greatest sportsmen of the 20th century were brought to their knees in the end...it is so sad to see the amount of joy these two men brought to the life of others have their lives ended so tragically....
