On a serious level i think he ruined his legacy ,as an Irish player he was a great servant of the Irish team but that is never
spoken of now, mention Steve Staunton automatically u think of his managerial stint.
Its a real shame that one of our most capped players should become a figure of ridicule

There is no doubt he was a fantastic player in his day but he will now only be remembered now as a figure of fun...which i agree is a shame.I bet he defo regrets ever taking the job.
