Names too similar?

I could be shot for this but I recently noticed this guy on the forum:

At first I thought it was the tech guy but then I realised his profile was without the "E":

Now in fairness there has always been a policy on similar names as it gets too confusing so should Tech Pauli be made change his name as the other Paulie has been around since '07??

I also noticed one the other night called dublad and its not the infamous Dubladoooooooo. It actually isnt allowed to have a duplicate of another username although the two i mentioned arent really duplicates in the true sense of the word.

The names of real people arent supposed to be used either but the enforcing of this is only as seems to suit

It seems this thread has been overlooked, is it because it concerns a mod (sorry pauli, nothing personal obviously, your a great guy)

This has been a bit of a reoccuring theme this last week, and i think most of the time people are not intentionally using similar names for any devious reason. Lots of people will have the same ideas etc when deciding on a username, and I dont think we can really spend loads of time asking people to change usernames etc. There are already lots of similar usernames and I dont think it would be a good use of anyone times to be checking up on these.

There are special rules on impersonating others and this will be dealt with as per normal.

Thats fine, there is no specific rule, it's just I have been around long enough to know in the past when Patricia was the only mod she didn't allow duplicate or near duplicate usernames..

Duplicates cant be done anyway as it wont allow it when you register.
