What exactly is the point of the weather serivce?

During the cold snap they warned us of 'Ten More Days' of freezing conditions, the snap ended the following day.

They haven't predicted one thing this year - the freeze, the floods or the drought.

Last night was meant to be fine and clear, instead we had the most amazing thunderstorms over south Dublin.

These guys cost millions each year, what exactly do they do?

Means dry or wet hot or cold

am i the only person the weather doesnt bother? If im too hot i cool down and vice versa. What i cannot understand is how ppls days can be defined by the weather. I cant count how many times somebody has said "its a glorious day". To which i respond "nope, just sunny".
