Default M50 and Naas Road Speed limits

Can anyone explain why the M50 speed has been reduced from a 120 KPH to 100 KPH ??

Also why the Naas Rd (3 lanes each side) is also a snails pace 100 KPH ??

Surely these should go up to 120 KPH

While technically the speed limit for a motorway can be a maximum of 120 kph, it can be less as proscribed and posted.

Personally, IMO until Irish people learn how to drive on a motorway and stop undertaking at the earliest opportunity, the reduced speed limit is better.
Though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; one equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
