In court, the judge made a very good point.

Child support, is money paid to support the child not the mother. The right of the child to receive support should not be influenced by the circumstance of conception. (Perhaps there can be an exception for AI.) The judge decided that the father should continue to pay support. (He had started but tried to stop when he lost his job and had to settle for a lower salary.)

The case may still go to appeal and the judge informed the father that he might be successful if he would try to sue either the woman or her employer for compensation but the law was clear - the father had to pay support.

I agree.. It's unlikely.. but we all come from different backgrounds.. Not everyone thinks it is morally acceptable to have an abortion... Lots of women have babies by men they dont know.. everything could change for them once they know they are pregnant... maternal instinct and all that.. Would you tell the missus?

Agreed. I tend to support a woman's right to abortion most of the time, but there are still a lot of ethical issues involved. It's not a bogus and stupid issue like people trying to stop other adults from having consensual sex... it's a real concern to terminate something. Also, it's not just your child you're terminating, it's half the child of the punter involved. I think he has rights as well on behalf of his proto child. So I just don't see how it's so easy to shrug off.

As for the condom, what if you sue the prostitute for the price of the condom, the prostitute sues you for the price of the baby?

But seriously, I think it's taken as a risk you take when you use one that it may break. It might be a part of their disclaimer. If you did find out their product was fault, it would probably make most sense if you both got together and sued the company involved. You might be able to sue the escort if the condom she used was some home-made type of crap, if she was reusing condoms etc.

I doubt there are escorts out there reusing condoms,and if there was you would have to question the mental state of anyone who would do that.
