The mess in the public health system is exactely why all these vhi swiftcare clinics are opeing up - I needed an mri scan - choice was wait 6 weeks or go to swiftcare - paid my €240 and had my scan the next day - I would hate to have to go public - I fell for those who cannot take the private option - real fear is that you would be left on waiting list till your condition worsens or you die.

Yes I didn't mean all doctors and nurses in Ireland are a disgrace. I meant it is a disgrace that sick people can't get the care they need in Ireland, unless they have money to pay for private treatement.

A few weeks later I went back for results another 80euro 5 minutes again he looked mostly at the wall most times when talking to me said I'll have to go on a course of tablets-200 for 10 minutes work!

Alot of them are. I went to alot for shoulder problems ,even after surgery. All said no more lifting espeicially overhead. I was in pain every single sec but i figured they are clueless and f them so i got hold of the best ppl i could find around the world. I got the american weight lifting team doc on the phone and have spoekn to three of the best in the world on injuries. The result i s im fine now, doing all the things that i was told i couldnt do anymore and i also know enough about injuries to heal them rapid fast. My point is most docs here are useless.

No truer words were spoken. Doctors were fine back in the days when most people were illiterate (which were just 100 years ago or so). With the internet now everyone can see everything, be their own doctor. The medicines doctors give usually do more harm than good and don't solve anything.

Some are ok but i find most docs here are too closed minded and jump to conclusions too quickly. Meds are fine if needed and not a band aid approach. the prob with lots of drug meds is that you have to be on them for a certain ammount of time to get maximum benefit. anti inflamms are a typical eg. you have to use them for at least two weeks before they build up to a level high enough to gain max benefit. Most docs only give 5 days or so.

Did they give you any clue as to what it is? If they gave you tabs then it was obviously for something?
