    Question Retarred

My drive is looking a bit on the old side so I have decided to get it Retarred.

Any advice on being retarred out there ?

Always stay away from the black stuff myself - too many would like to see me tarred and feathered -

Splash out and get it cobblelocked.

I would suggest gravel, as its not as permanent as being retarred.

Gravel looks very effective enough but then the cars wheels start spreading it onto the path outside and everywhere else, it also goes into the house and can ruin your floor.

Yes but I would be nervous of the level of commitment involved with going down the retarred route.
    I believe its fairly permanent.

To have it done correctly, you would probably need to dig up the drive again as against just spreading a fresh layer of tar on the existing drive. One might consider the cobblelocking option as you are going to all that trouble. E4500 should cover an average 4 bedroomed house as against E1500 for a tar job.
